BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
The Western Avenue Association started November 2001, as a small group of restauranteurs got together to help promote this local, independent restaurant corridor. Soon thereafter, retailers and service providers looked to join the group to help brand the area as a shopping, dining and entertainment district.
The district established a Business Improvement District (BID) that embodies the area of NW 36th to Classen Boulevard on Western Avenue (frontage only) in 2007. The BID is a self-taxed district and revenue funds additional beautification efforts, security services and enhanced marketing to all BID area tenants.
